Fifth-time-bound Senator, Delta South Senatorial District, Senator James Manager, has dedicated his victory at the Saturday poll to God, his arch opponent, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and people of the district.
The Ijaw-born senator-elect of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) polled 258, 812 votes to defeat Dr Uduaghan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 125, 776 at the last Saturday’s National Assembly poll.
He said the victory was not about me or a particular ethnic group, but everyone in Delta South Senatorial district.
In a statement he posted on his Facebook wall on Tuesday, Senator Manager described Uduaghan as his “main challenger, brother, friend, ally and Oga.”
According to him, “I want to sincerely thank my teeming supporters, by that I mean all delta southerners.”
“I want to thank you all of you for giving me your support thus far. Your support is what I don’t take for granted.”
“So, I am grateful to everybody for their continued confidence and faith in me. This victory is for all delta southerners.”
“I am most grateful to Almighty God who has made this victory possible.”
“To all my fellow candidates, particularly my main challenger, my brother, friend, ally and ‘Oga.’”
“His excellency, Dr. Emma Ewetan Uduaghan, we are all winners together after all it is about delta south senatorial district.”
“It is not about me or a particular ethnic group. So, I also congratulate them too. To God Almighty be the glory!”
