The Dhaaruhera police recovered the body of a 23-year-old girl lying in a field at Rajpura village in the district today. They had yesterday found the body of a young man hanging from a tree at the same village.
The girl’s body bore multiple injury marks inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. The girl, identified as Saroj, had gone missing under mysterious circumstance from her house two days ago.
The police have registered a murder case against unknown persons on a complaint by the girls’ father and started investigation to find out any connection, if any, between the two incidents.
Sources said some labourers spotted the body while they were harvesting the wheat crop this morning. They informed the police that arrived there immediately. The police sent the body to the local civil hospital for a post-mortem examination.
“Since the field from where the girl’s body was recovered is not far from the place where the body of Rajesh was found hanging from a tree on Monday, we are probing the case to ascertain whether any link exists between the two cases,” said Kuldeep Singh, SHO, Dhaaruhera police station.
