The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Anambra State on Security Matters, Hon. Osita Nwoye, has commended the security agencies in Anambra State for their efforts in safeguarding the state during this COVID-19 lockdown.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Hon. Osita Nwoye  lauded the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps among others for their commitment in ensuring that Anambra State remains a pacesetter and a crime free state among its peers in Nigeria.
Hon. Osita Nwoye stated that in metropolitan cities like Lagos and other cities,  the increase in crime rate during this COVID-19 pandemic has been alarming as citizens usually keep watch at night,  but in Anambra state, the story is different as through the rapid response and painstaking efforts of the security agencies with support from Anambra State Government, the citizens sleeps with closed eyes.
Hon. Osita Nwoye fumed at individuals who have penchant for undermining the efforts of security agencies and warned that until the generality of Anambrarians unveil their mind to see beyond their peculiar fogginess, they shall continue to unfairly belittle the Police and other security agencies and by the break of dawn, we shall only discover that we have security agents garbed in official uniforms, but very unwilling to protect us, because of our expressed ingratitude to their sacrifices, having deliberately failed to appreciate them and preferring to cast aspersions and dark shadows on the Police, as good only as agents of darkness.
Hon. Osita Nwoye further commended the political appointees, who were recently drafted to support the security operatives in safeguarding our borders to ensure that the inter state lockdown is maintained, for the proactive measures and successes which they have achieved.
He expressed optimism that the combine operation would help in exterminating  criminal elements and other forms of criminal activities in the State.
He urged Ndi Anambra and Nigerians at large to see the Police and other security agencies as agents of law enforcement and positive change while supporting them to make in their efforts to having disciplined and courageous personnel, with eyes fixated on excellence in consonance with the vision of His Excellency Chief Sir, Willie Obiano to make Anambra State a reference point in Nigeria and beyond.
