The Joint Health Sector Union of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri Chapter, has demanded for the payment of the November 2015, November 2016, January 2017 and February 2017 salaries to the workers.
This is just as the union also asked for the review of 2016 promotion exercises that were held while their members were on industrial action.
Other payment, JOHESU chapter of the centre demanded are payment of 2013 and 2014 promotion arrears and payment of arrears of skipping from 2010 to 2013.
These were the highlights of the address by the union on Wednesday when the Minister of Health for State, Osagie Ehanire, visited the medical centre.
However, the address signed by chairman of Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals, national Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives and Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Mr. Clifford C. Ezeugwu, Mrs. Catherine Uheara and Andy E. Okonkwo respectively, also asked for the centre’s management’s preparedness to implement stagnation in place of the promotion of officers from CONHESS II and above.
Meanwhile, the union has also agitated for the proper placement of the medical laboratory scientist and medical radiographers.
The officers have yet to be properly placed sequel to the circular from the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
