A Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja yesterday remanded one Sadiq Shehu, 38, and Kasim Ademola, 36, for allegedly stealing one Hollandis wrapper and a gown in a shop.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shehu and Ademola are facing trial for criminal conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecutor, Umoh Inah, told the court that the items belonged to one Hajiya Amina Okunlola of Asokoro, Abuja.
Inah said Okunlola reported the matter at the Garki Police Station on May 5.
He said the accused conspired and stole one Hollandis wrapper valued at N35, 000 and one gown valued at N80, 000 from Okunlola’s shop.
The prosecutor said that the shop is located at Area 11 Plazaý, Abuja, while the police found the stolen items with the accused persons during investigation.
He said the offences contravened sections 97 and 288 of the Penal Code.ý
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, adjourned the case till July 21 for hearing.
